Strength & Precision

Weightlifting is a powerful and technical sport focusing on the precise lifting of heavy weights using specialized techniques. It involves two main lifts: the snatch, which requires a single fluid motion to lift the weight overhead, and the clean and jerk, which involves a two-stage process. Athletes compete in various weight categories, striving for maximum lifts and personal records. Beyond its competitive aspect, weightlifting promotes strength, discipline, and endurance, making it a cornerstone of physical conditioning in many athletic programs worldwide.

Rules

Competitors must successfully lift the weight from the floor to overhead within these two movements, demonstrating control and stability. Each lifter gets three attempts at each lift, with the highest successful attempt in each contributing to their total score. Athletes are categorized by body weight classes, and only lifts executed under specified conditions are deemed valid.
